Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMP)

BNG Habitat Management Plans
Ground Control provides expert Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs) aligned with Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) policy requirements under the Environment Act 2021.
What is an HMMP?
A Habitat Management Plan (HMP) outlines how habitats created or enhanced as part of a development project will be managed to secure long-term biodiversity gains. These plans are critical for meeting Biodiversity Net Gain requirements, ensuring that natural habitats are maintained, monitored, and allowed to thrive post-development.
Ground Control Habitat Management Plans
Our HMMPs are tailored to individual sites, considering habitat types, ecological value, and ongoing management needs.
Our HMMPs follow a detailed biodiversity baseline of habitat survey that we can conduct to establish pre-development biodiversity baselines, using UK Habitat Classification and DEFRA metric tools.
We design and develop detailed HMMPs that define management objectives, prescriptions, monitoring schedules, and adaptive management approaches.
Post-construction, we can provide monitoring and reporting tools to ensure compliance with planning obligations and long-term habitat success at least 30 years.
