Darren joined Ground Control in 2018 after initially working with the business as a consultant, during which he designed and delivered the GC Academy and provided executive coaching, quickly proving his ability to drive meaningful change.

Darren brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience, having spent two decades in investment banking as a Managing Director leading client services and onboarding. He later transitioned into consulting, establishing his own business, specialising in strategic design, leadership development, and building high-performing teams; experience that has now shaped his work at Ground Control.

He later took on the role of Client Services Director in Ground Control, where he led a major turnaround, transforming a high-turnover, disengaged team into a cohesive, purpose-driven unit through a sector-led strategy and focus on leadership capability.

In 2022, Darren assumed responsibility for the ground’s maintenance division, improving employee engagement, NPS scores, and making it one of the most profitable divisions in the business. He is now focused on integrating winter maintenance into a fully unified maintenance division, enhancing data integrity, re-engaging field teams, and developing a new contract manager training programme to ensure consistent, high-quality service.

A qualified coach with a deep interest in human psychology, Darren is passionate about developing people, building high-performing teams, and embedding a culture of innovation across the business.
